North Cyprus is known for peace, serenity and natural beauty. For a tourist, the place is a perfect blend of history and culture, natural beauty and great hospitality. The two prime tourist locations there are Famagusta and Kyrenia.

1. Famagusta: This town is known for its historical monuments, the most famous being Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque. It also has some of the best beaches of North Cyprus. It is most advisable to use this as a base while exploring the Karpas Peninsula – which is famous for its beautiful countryside and deserted beaches. Close by is the famous archeological site – Ruins of Salamis. Other nearby places worth sight-seeing at are Tomb of St. Barnabas and the Othello’s Tower. The center of culture and handicrafts, Famagusta offers a variety of jewelry, copper and pottery items.

2.  Kyrenia: This is the port town of North Cyprus, with its picturesque harbour and ancient castle nearby. The ancient architecture around the Kyrenia harbor has been preserved in its aura but has been modernized into restaurants and bars to cater to youngsters and tourists. It also has a few well known historical monuments such as the Aga Cafer Pasa mosque, folk Art museum, The Protestant church of St. Andrew and the Catholic church of St. Elizabeth of Hungary. Situated in the Kyrenia mountain range is the Bellapais village, which is a popular heritage village, known for its historical look and feel.

The best way to explore North Cyprus is by a rented car. Not only are the costs reasonable, it provides the flexibility to explore the city along with its countryside. Besides a picturesque view, North Cyprus also offers a scenic golf-course and scuba diving.

North Cyprus offers a variety of cuisines and offerings to visitors and tourists – from simple tarns to high-end fine dining. The local cuisine - Cypriot cuisine - has been influenced by many cultures, owing to the fact that North Cyprus is flanked by 3 continents. Many dishes vary from region to region, each with a specific taste and character. Some common dishes are Molohiya, Yalancidoma, shish kabab and mousakka.
